7 arrested for burglary in Md.

FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police have arrested seven people for burglary and other criminal charges in Maryland.

The arrests were made on Feb. 28 when undercover officers were checking vacant apartments, they saw a rear sliding glass door which was unsecured. The officers detected the smell of marijuana coming from inside. When they went inside, they found seven people who were then arrested, police said.

Hector Mendoza, Yonis Rodriguez-Quintanilla, Joel Figueroa, Jose Melendez, Jose Lopez, Irvin Amaya Lopez and a juvenile were arrested and charged with one count of burglary, one count of trespassing and one count of possession of marijuana, police said.

The juvenile was charged and referred through the juvenile system and released to his parents, police said.
