2 arrested for armed carjacking in DC

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Two 19-year-old men have been charted in an armed carjacking that occurred in the 200 block of 14th Street, NE.

At approximately 2:15 p.m. Monday, a woman was unloading her vehicle when she was approached by two men. One of the men was armed with a handgun and demanded the keys to her vehicle. She handed them over and the men fled in her vehicle, according to Metropolitan Police Department officials.

Officers arrived at the scene and started searching for the vehicle. At approximately 3:45 p.m., officials say officers spotted the vehicle in the 1100 block of South Capitol Street, SW.

Ultimately, 19-year-old James Alexander Raynard Maccrae of Northeast, Washington, DC and 19-year-old Dangelo Maurice Harrison of Southeast, Washington, DC were charged with armed carjacking,

Police say the vehicle was returned to the owner.
