Credit To Debit?

WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Increased interest rates, lower limits?  Smart Money says don't be so fast to switch from credit to debit transactions.  Here's why.

Travel can be more stressful if you make hotel or car rental reservations with your debit...even if you make a gas purchase.

The companies tend to put a hold on funds before approving a transaction.  Use a debit card and you'll be unable to access your cash for days or even weeks.

Debit cards come with fewer consumer protections.

And, they pose a whole host of traps, like overdraft fees.
