(WUSA/WTSP) -- How does a $5 turkey sound to you?
That a really nice savings -- and it's just one of the deals Wal-mart has rolled out ahead of Thanksgiving.
The 12 pound turkey is selling for just a third of the cost of the average turkey last year.
Wal-Mart also plans to slash prices on flat-screen TVs to win holiday sales from rivals.
For example -- a 42-inch TV from Sharp will sell for about $500 -- down $270 from its regular price.
And a new HP notebook computer will go for $300.
The sales begin on November 7th.
