WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. (AP) -- The West Virginia resort that has entertained presidents and kings is now offering that level of luxury to bargain-savvy residents of West Virginia and Virginia.
Jim Justice, the businessman who bought The Greenbrier out of bankruptcy this year, says he's offering residents rooms at $59 per night on certain weekends in the coming months.
Rooms at the four-star resort normally start at around $275. The Greenbrier is located roughly five miles from the Virginia border.
The special, which includes discounts on other activities, is being billed as the Tribute to the Virginias Package. It's available November 15-16, December 18-20, January 8-10 and February 5-7.
Justice says it's a way to thank residents for supporting the resort.
