WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- The federal government is offering tax credits for 30 percent of the purchase price for home improvements that will help lower your energy costs.
Insulation, windows, doors, heating and cooling systems are just just a few of the products that could qualify.
Homeowners have to buy the products between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010 in order to claim the credit on their taxes.
Check out the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star program for details on qualified products.
