One Product, Many Solutions

SPRINGFIELD, Va., (WUSA) -- "It's almost impossible to stay organized and find the right place for everything and a little help would be great," says Rikki Drykerman.

Rikki is searching for a way to contain her kids scattered toys and everyday clutter that comes with a family of four.

"I look to not waste as much as possible, and have things that will work in more than one way," she says.

So, to help Rikki save money, The Container Store's Mary Burke shows her how one product can have many solutions.

Here's what she's working with, storage bins, brush holders and a jewelry organizer. First the closet.

"What's really nice about this box is that it's got handles and you can also label them," the expert says.

Mary uses organizers for the drawers, bins to store her purses and those same bins turn up in the bathroom.

"It's got her little hair brush and bands and her elastics, too," says Mary.

She uses a brush holder and a jewelry organizer to clear the vanity. They do double duty in the office.

"Here's a fun way to contain all those pens," says the expert organizer.

The plastic drawer organizers turn up again, too in the home office. Now, to the high traffic areas in the house.

Rikki says, "What ever we try to do never lasts very long with the kids around."

For the family room....the big storage box comes to the rescue. And, it's portable when you need to take stuff on the go.

The mom of two says, "It seems to have gotten me organized today. And, I hope to keep it that way."
