WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- It's Baby Safety Month. A thirty day campaign that runs through September to educate and increase parents awareness of the products they select and use.
Mom and local inventor Margaret Pressler shares some unique and affordable safety gear you can use in and out of the home.
In the crib: The CozyWedge ($59.95). Safety and medical experts warn parents against using padded crib bumpers saying they could pose a serious danger, including risk of SIDS or suffication. But the CozyWedge is made of 100% non-absorbent and CFC-free foam padding. The slipcovers are made from organic cotton. It fits snugly around the crib yet soft enough to allow full air flow. And, your baby is visible at all times.
At the table: The Tilty Cup ($5.99 per 2 pack). Its angled interior and flow control lid makes it easier for a child to hold it like a normal cup and drink without having to suck or tilt the cup down like a sippy cup.
In the plane: Baby B'Air ($34.95). FAA approved, it provides a safe solution for lap held babies and toddlers while traveling in an airplane. The child wears it like a vest and is comfortably secured to the parent simply by connecting it to their seat belt.
On the go: BabyBriefcase ($29.95). An organizer parents can use to store all of their infant's or toddler's important information and documents.
