BETHESDA, Md. (WUSA) -- Soon it will be time to pack away the summer threads, and pick out a new wardrobe for the school year.

"Everyone wants to find some things that are a little more fun, a little more rock & roll, and a lot of layering, a lot of bright colors," says Jenn Falik.

The style expert says parents won't have to spend a lot to keep up with what's hot.

"Stores are really pulling out all the stops as far as deals go," Jenn says.

One such deal, the Old Navy Class of 10 promotion. Over 1,000 items in the store for $10 or less. Jenn put together some outfits that will take your kids through the year. First up, 5 year old Connor.

Jenn says, "Doesn't he look so cute! We've got cargo pants. Little slip on shoes, so easy, and hoodies...hoodies are a really big trend."

The T-shirt is just $7. The shoes and pants both retail for less than $13.

Next, 8 year old Gabrielle wearing jean jacket that no girl should go without.

"The look we're seeing for back to school is a little boxier. I love this hot pink corduroy skirt...$10," says Jenn.

The leggings are just $5 and the boots can kick things up a notch for less than $25.

"This is Julie. She's going to the 7th grade," says Jenn.

Julie's outfit is a real steal, less than $25.

"We've got this fun twist on the argyle print. Love that these are sneaker but a little dresser," Jenn says.

Connor's next outfit pairs jeans with a T for a total of $32.50.

And, Gabrielle and Julie do an updated version of the classic best friends outfits for just over $30. The backpacks retail for $10.

Style expert Jenn Falik says, "You can find great clothes on a budget."

Here are some more tips from our style saver.

Go through the kids closets before you shop to see how you can build on what they already have.

Make sure outfits can be mixed and match.

Don't spend a ton of money on staples.

And, you can get quality buys for less.
