WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Victor Murphy, Director of Technology and Operations; Richard Gorbutt, Manager of Technology; Aubrey Bryant and Karen Peterson, Transmitter Technicians, and longtime WUSA9 employees Paul Monte-Bovi and Tom Buckley took part in the switch for WUSA9.

WUSA9's switch was a little more complicated than most, since it involved shutting down the analog VHF on 9, digital UHF on 34, and starting the new digital VHF 9.

At 11:55AM, with military like precision, the analog signal was turned off, antenna patches made, then the digital 34 signal was turned off, followed by the start of the new digital VHF signal from WUSA9.
