
SILVER SPRING, Md., (WUSA) -- Meet Jennifer. Jennfier Calabro.
Her mission, to get friends and family to test products.
"Ooooo, smoothing Luster lotion!"
And create a buzz about them before they're stocked on store shelves. Jennifer is a Bzz Agent.
"It's more of a word of mouth marketing," she says.
She is one of 500,000 people who influence influence businesses and their brands through this direct marketing approach.
"People are trying it, and they're getting their honest opinions," says Jennifer.
Every couple of weeks a buzz kit is delivered to the Silver Spring mom in the mail.
She says, "They send us coupons, send us samples to try. if I like it I switch.
It's in her home test kitchen where Jennifer gets participants to give a thumbs up or down to what companies create for you to buy.
"There have been many things that I've actually tried it and I don't like it. And, I'll go to people and say look I don't like this but you might," she says.
Once everyone has weighed in, Jennifer fills out an online survey to give manufacturers the buzz on their merchandise.
She says, "It's neat! It makes me feel empowered almost, that I can actually make sure that whatever I believe is a good product gets out there on the market."
And helping consumers get the best bang for their buck is what keeps this secret agent buzzing along.
