Adding another pioneering piece to her basketball resume, Nancy Lieberman was named the new head coach of team Power in Ice Cube’s BIG3 League.

The Hall of Fame, Olympic gold medalist women’s basketball player will be filling the role of Clyde Drexler, who was promoted to league commissioner.

This is not Lieberman’s first groundbreaking coaching job.

She coached the Texas Legends NBA developmental-league team, being the first woman to be named head coach of a professional men’s sports league.

And later went on to assistant coaching for the Sacramento Kings.

The BIG3 League, fresh off its first year, gives retired NBA players the chance to carry on their love of the game.

A desire Lieberman is familiar with, having played in the WNBA to the age of 39, and even having signed a 7-day contract with the Detroit Shock, breaking her own record of oldest WNBA player, at age 50.
