QUESTION:

Is a photo of the American flag being burned in an NFL locker room real?

ANSWER:

No, the photo was digitally altered

SOURCES:

Google reverse image search, Rod Mar Photography

PROCESS:

The post making its way on social media shows the Seattle Seahawks in their locker room with a player holding the American flag, the post claims the team doesn’t want the photo to get out.

Pretty jarring seeing the American flag being burned—some people were convinced it’s fake while others found the picture to be upsetting, not knowing what to believe.

Well Barbara we did a Google reverse search of the image and it brought up this photo, the original photo that was actually tweeted from Seahawks account last year showing Defensive end Michael Bennett doing a victory dance in the locker room taken by a professional photographer Rod Mar.

It originally was posted by a group on Facebook called Vets for Trump but they have since deleted the post from their page that has received over 250,000 shares so far.

Vets for Trump shared an article that admits the image is photoshopped but with the caption but the group posted above the link “Do you think this image is an accurate metaphor?”

Bennett did take a during the national anthem when the Seahawks played the Colts in September and he appeared on CNN to discuss the National anthem protests, but burning the American flag in a locker room to protest? Nope, this photo is fake.
