1 firefighter transported after 550+ units evacuated in Bethesda apartment fire

A firefighter, were transported to a local hospital after 500 people were evacuated from an apartment building in Montgomery County. 

A firefighter, were transported to a local hospital after more than 550 units were evacuated from an apartment building in Montgomery County.

The apartment building is located in the 5200 block of Pooks Hill Road.

A transformer fire in the apartment garage and smoke went into the building. The firefighter was transported to hospital for heat exhaustion and the six residents are being evaluated for smoke.

South Tower building is re-occupied. Fire involved power feed to the building.The damage is estimated at $1 million. Firefighter are still assessing North Tower.
