Classmates rape girl, others record and plan the attack, police say

Police said a third suspect recorded the rape and a fourth person helped plan the attack.

Two men raped and held a classmate hostage, while a third man recorded the crimes, Frederick Police said Thursday evening.

They also reported an acquaintance of the victim knew it was going to happen.

The victim told detectives Edgar Chicas-Hernandez, 17, and Victor Gonzalez Gutierres, 19, grabbed her while she was walking into her residence at 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 2. A third man was also involved, she said, but his face was covered.

The woman said the men hit her, pulled her hand, forced her into a vehicle, then drove her to another apartment complex in the area.

The victim told officers Chicas-Hernandez and Gonzalez Gutierres raped her and held her captive for hours before being taken back home.

She told investigators the men threatened to do more harm if she reported them to police.

Through their investigation, detectives discovered one of the victim’s acquaintances knew this was being planned. Messages referencing the incident were sent through a social media site before and after the crime, police said.

The woman was able to help police find Chicas-Hernandez and Gonzalez Gutierres because they all attend the same high school. They were taken into custody without incident. However, they are still looking for the third suspect.
