Dogs affected by Harvey arrive in DC, looking for new homes

Some of the animals impacted by the flooding in Texas are getting new homes right here in the DMV. Last Chance Animal Rescue posted photos on their Facebook page after about 100 dogs, cats and other animals arrived.

WALDORF, MD (WUSA9) - Dogs that had to flee rising flood waters from Hurricane Harvey have arrived in the D.C. area—and they’re looking for homes.

Last Chance Animal Rescue welcomed the pups Thursday morning in Waldorf, Md. The little cuties quickly got checked in, vaccinated, and a good meal.

Several of the dogs are in foster homes already, but others could use a place to stay until they’re ready for adoption. If you would like to foster one of the pups, you can contact Last Chance here.

And mark your calendar (or set an alert in your phone)—the dogs are expected to be up for adoption on Saturday, Sept. 16 at the Columbia PetSmart.

Last Chance said it expects to welcome even more puppies from Texas over the next few weeks.
