(WUSA) -- If you are a woman who wants to take charge of your life, we have found an organization that can help. Six years ago D.C. resident, Cecilia Hill, created a dynamic women's movement to empower others.

Hill was an ordained minister, published author and an event planner, but her life was not complete. In August 2001, with the help of co-founder Marvin J. Perry, Hill created Women of Virtue an organization designed to build a network to help women improve their lives.

WOV has touched the lives of many women including Mary Gaskins. Gaskins, who has the gift of baking, joined Women of Virtue and was able to turn her hobby into a lucrative home-based business.

WOV has many programs that are an integral part of the community. One of the most important programs of WOV is raising money to support women battling breast cancer and undergoing chemotherapy. Dr. Michelle Craig, a breast cancer survivor was one of the first to benefit. The WOV Fund was able to help Dr. Craig pay her bills when she was not able to due to her illness.

Another woman, Denise Whalen-White, was touched by WOV. Her participation in the annual Women of Virtue Breast Cancer Tea motivated her to start a foundation that provides comfort to women diagnosed with breast cancer.

Hill is truly living out her purpose by empowering women and teaching them to share their success. She has the gift of seeing women's untapped potential and helps to make their dreams a reality.
