(WUSA) -- Shelia Newman has 25 years experience in managing contracts related to health, disability and workplace compliance. When she started her company, New Editions, she was committed to making her company a model for others to follow. She prides herself on hiring employees with disabilities.
One third of New Editions employees has a disability, ranging from vision impairments to severe diabetes. All 33 employees have college degrees and many have advanced degrees. The staff conducts research on health and disability issues, designs program evaluations, trains on disability legislation, and develops and tests new technologies that provide access to popular software, documents and the internet.
