WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Get ready to 'ooh' and 'ah', because we have some must-see video of 7-month-old baby panda cub Bao Bao taking her first steps outside for all the panda-loving paparazzi to see.
Today marked the first day the cub was allowed outside into her mother Mei Xiang's yard.
Bao Bao will be allowed into the public yard every day starting at 8:00 a.m.. The only catch is that is she is not allowed out if it is colder than 35 degrees or if it is raining or snowing. Children loved watching Bao Bao at the Zoo today.
Zookeepers have "cub-proofed" the panda yards, placing "collars" on trees so Bao Bao will not be able to climb too high. At the National Zoo, it is all panda, all the time.
