Recipe: Guinness steamed black mussels

  • 6 oz. Black Mussels
  • 1Tbs. Butter, unsalted
  • 1/2 tsp. Garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. Shallots, chopped
  • 1 oz. Roma Tomato, diced
  • 1/8 tsp. Parsley, chopped
  • 3 oz. Guinness or Irish Stout
  • 1 ea. Grilled Sourdough Bread
  • 1 ea. Lemon Wedge


1. Place butter in sauté pan over medium heat.

2. Add garlic, shallots and mussels, and sauté lightly.

3. Add tomatoes, parsley, and Irish beer.

4. Steam until all mussels are open (approx. 2 to 3 minutes). (Discard any unopened mussels).
