Free sweet treats in DC on National Ice Cream Day

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - On Sunday, July 16, creameries across the country are celebrating National Ice Cream Day. Throughout the District, the deals and free treats are sprinkling out. Here are a few places to satisfy your sweet tooth this weekend. 

DC Scoop Free Ice Cream Social

This free ice cream social takes place every year. On July 15, enjoy snacks from more than seven vendors at Union Market and vote for the "People's Choice Ice Cream." 

Dolcezza Pop Up Cafe at the Hirshhorn Museum

The classic gelato push-pops will be offered up at a discount. Choose from dark chocolate, blueberry lemonade, or yellow peach southern comfort for $1 each. 

McDonald's 

The Golden Arches will be giving away soft serves for free at all of their locations nationwide. Download the McDonald's app to access the offer.

Some other sweet news: Baskin Robbins now has delivery!

If you can't leave the house to satisfy your sweet tooth, Baskin Robbins has teamed up with DoorDash, to get your favorite churro-flavored sundae or pistachio split delivered to your front door any day of the week.
