Ms. Brikman currently co-anchors 9 News Now at 5 p.m., and spearheads WUSA 9's health coverage. She is actively involved with health and wellness-related organizations including the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, National Kidney Foundation, the American Heart Association and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. She and her family moved to the Washington, DC area in 2008 and are thrilled to call the nation's capital home.


Previously, Anita spent many years at the ABC affiliate in Philadelphia, where she began working in 1994 as their featured medical reporter. Shortly after joining the station, she also assumed various news anchor duties. Among other assignments, she traveled to Indonesia following the disastrous tsunami to chronicle a medical relief mission by American physicians.

Ms. Brikman graduated with honors from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication. She is married and the mother of three very active children. In her free time, Anita enjoys distance running, and ran the Marine Corps Marathon for the first time this fall.
