FALLS CHURCH, Va. (WUSA) -- Inova is implementing temporary visitation restrictions to prevent the spread of the flu, the hospital posted on its site.
The restrictions began on Jan. 11 and are being implemented at all Inova hospital inpatient units.
Among the prohibitions are visitors who show any symptoms of influenza-like illness, visitors who are under 18 years of age, and visitors will be limited to two persons.
"These temporary measures will help protect against influenza infection of the most vulnerable among us, including inpatients with compromised immune systems as well as our caregivers," Dr. Loring Flint, Inova's Chief Medical Officer said on the site.
