Reports: Joan Rivers stops breathing in surgery, hospitalized

Joan Rivers has been taken to a N.Y. hospital after she stopped breathing during a throat procedure at a clinic Thursday, TMZ and NBC New York report.

The comedian was rushed to Mt. Sinai hospital in critical condition after she stopped breathing while undergoing surgery at the Yorkville Endoscopy clinic.

Rivers' publicist has not responded to USA TODAY's request for comment.
