Date night destinations: July 14-16

There may currently be a heat wave in the DMV, but that shouldn’t stop you from stepping outside of your comfort zone and making a love connection this weekend! Impress a new love interest or a long-term partner with one of these adventurous and original date ideas:

Pop in to the newest pop-up

Calling all Game of Thrones fans! The newest installment of the hit series premieres July 16, which means the Game of Thrones-themed pop-up bar in D.C. proves the perfect place to visit to this weekend! You can sip on one of the many festive cocktails, take pictures on the iron throne or even try on one of the iconic fur coats! Lines are long to get inside, so make sure you arrive with time to spare, as the bar closes early on Sundays so that the staff can make it home in time to watch.

A day at the 'beach'

Check out downtown Baltimore's newest bar and restaurant, Sandlot. Its founders designed it to look and feel like a beach, complete with sand and an outdoor volleyball court.  Located next to the harbor, you can take a foot tour of the city before or after a few drinks or a round of bocce.

Take a hike

Enjoy the scenic views of Northern Virginia at Great Falls Park, popularized for its overlooks and breathtaking natural beauty. Temperatures should drop down to more comfortable ranges by Saturday, but be sure to pack a water bottle and plenty of sunscreen along with some protein-packed snacks and a camera no matter when you go.
