The last week of African American Music Month

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - African American Music Week is down to its last few days. But, it seems performers have saved some of their best shows for last. Be sure to check out these culminating performances.  

Tuesday, June 27th 

Jill Scott @ Modell Performing Arts Center 

Scott infuses soulful rhythm with contemporary R&B to create her internationally recognized sound.

Friday, June 30th 

Vivian Green @ Birchmere

Vivian Green is a songwriter turned artist who's responsible for writing some of Boyz II Men's greatest hits. Her career blossomed after serving as a backup singer for the aforementioned Jill Scott. She includes dance, neo soul and R&B elements in all four of her albums. 

Sunday, July 1st 

Lyfe Jennings @ Birchmere

Although it's a day late for African American Music Month, Lyfe Jennings is sure to put on a spectacular show. Jennings is a songwriter and record producer who specializes in the bass and piano.
