WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Homepolish has become a runaway success in its first year of business in New York City. Now the business, which hooks you up with affordable interior design services, is looking to glam up the Nation's Capitol.
"We have DC designers working with DC people. It's people who understand the culture here," explains Noa Santos, co-founder and CEO of Homepolish.
Think of Homepolish like a Match.com for interior design. Santos says "We like to set up designers with people in their general vicinity as well as designers who match aesthetically and personality-wise."
Here's how the service works; You go to www.homepolish.com, enter your address, how much you want to spend and some more information about your project. Then, you are matched to a designer who will spend an hour with you in your home for as little as $50. After than hour, you will be armed with recommendations for your project.
"The process is about learning about the issues you may have. Maybe it's the lighting. Maybe it's your furniture layout, " says Santos.
If you choose to hire your designer, you pay based on the time the designer spends on your project. Services run the gamut. Santos says "it's everything. It's custom upholstery if you need it. It's vintage shopping if you need it. We have clients who range from a few hundred dollars all the the way up to hundreds of thousands of dollars. "
