WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Here's a warning for car buyers.
According to Consumer Reports, those turbocharged engines may not deliver the speed or fuel economy for the money car manufacturers charge.
The non-profit tested several turbocharged models from Ford, Hyundai, Kia and Chevrolet.
The results show they were less efficient than competitors.
But, a turbocharged four cylinder BMW did well in tests.
Ford says its own survey shows customers are satisfied with the fuel economy in their turbocharged vehicles.
