Many twitter users responded to the Boston Police post, calling it "tone-deaf", and "clueless".

I can see your point.

But I don't have a problem with it.

I think Red Auerbach is part of our black history.

He didn't just coach black players, but he helped change the culture of the NBA, espcially in a city that had major racial tensions at the time.

If you go down the street to the National Museum of African American History and Culture, you'll see some white people in there that helped black people.

Do I think the Boston Police should have honored a black person first?

A little bit.

But who they chose to go with first, really isn't that bad either, because the Celtics coach helped change our culture.
