Murder charge follows fatal shooting outside Walmart

A Virginia woman has been charged with murder for a shooting in a Walmart parking lot.

A Virginia woman has been charged with murder for a shooting in a Walmart parking lot.

News outlets report 34-year-old Cindy Bryant of Hampton was arrested shortly after the Thursday morning shooting at the Tabb Walmart in Yorktown and charged with first-degree murder.

York-Poquoson Sheriff J.D. "Danny" Diggs said a dispute began between Bryant and the victim, 27-year-old Jean Bryant of Hampton, who worked in an optometry office located inside the Walmart.

Diggs said Cindy Bryant then abducted Jean Bryant from the office out into the parking lot. Jean Bryant was then shot multiple times in the stomach.

Diggs said the shooting stemmed from a personal dispute.

A deputy at the Walmart when the shooting occurred about 9:30 a.m. Thursday heard the shots and made the arrest.
