Two men were killed in a boat crash on the Potomac River on Saturday afternoon, Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police said.

They have been identified as 49-year-old James A. Melley, of Buford, Georgia, and 61-year-old Garth Thomas Tagge, of Atlanta.

The boating accident happened around noon in front of the Virginia restaurant called Tim’s II Restaurant and Crab House.

There only boat involved was a high performance boat that could reach speeds up to 190 MPH.

Both men were seasoned boaters who police believe are part of the Radar Run. There were no other passengers on the boat.

Police do not know if speed was a factor in the accident but are investigating the cause.
