Police have arrested a 17-year-old after three people were shot in a car on East Howell Avenue in the usually peaceful Del Ray neighborhood Thursday.
The 17-year-old has been charged with malicious wounding. Police say the victims were a 19-year-old woman, 21-year-old man and a 49-year-old man.
Neighbor Michael Bergin said the victims were screaming and weeping in pain and anger. He said one of the victims was a woman and the other two were men.
Police say they're going to be ok. They also say that they knew the gunman. But the cops are still looking for shooter, and they've yet to offer us a description.
It was only when Bergin went back and looked again at the photo his wife took that he realized there was a third victim. Bergin says one of the victims lives just a few doors away from the shooting.
Neighbors heard the gunshots first, and then the Honda crashing into a parked Chevy Tahoe.
"It looked to me like an ambush," said Bergin.
He's lived in this neighborhood almost thirty years and says this is the second shooting in all that time. The other was last month's shooting at the Congressional baseball practice, just a few blocks away.
While police believe they know the identity of the gunman, they're still looking for information from anyone who can help them build their case.
