We can verify this is true.

A "No child deserves to go hungry" post is going viral on social media.

It says "If you have a school aged student in need of breakfast and lunch this summer, simply text food to 877-877 and you'll get a message back telling you the closet place you can go."

We have good news, this is true.

A non-profit organization called "Share Our Strength" started the text 877-877 campaign to help provide meals for kids in the summer. It's funded by the USDA.

While school is out of session, free meals will be provided for children and teens 18 years or younger, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's website.

The website has an interactive map that will help you locate places near you that will be providing free meals.
