A gun battle and crash that left two people injured in Upper Marlboro early Thursday morning may be linked, Prince George's County police said.

Just after midnight, police got a report of two cars shooting at each other while driving in the area of White House Rd. Police then got another call regarding a crash, possibly involving the same cars involved in the gun battle.

When officers arrived to the crash scene in the area of White House Rd. at Rt. 202 they saw that one of the cars had struck a pole. Two victims were found inside of the cars. They told police that a car was chasing them.

Authorities stated that three other vehicles fled the scene before officers got there.

Police arrested the three suspects who tried to run away from the crash scene. Two of them were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Nobody had gunshot wounds.

The investigation remains ongoing.
