Police arrest suspect in Riverdale homicide

RIVERDALE, Md. — A Temple Hills man is behind bars in connection with a homicide over the weekend in Riverdale, Prince George's County police said.

James Jacob Young, 39, was arrested and charged Monday in the fatal shooting of Curtis Mosley, 40, of Hyattsville.

Police said the shooting happened around 7:45 p.m. Saturday in the 6000 block of Patterson Street. Officers found Mosley suffering from gunshot wounds, he was taken to a local hospital where he later died. 

Witnesses said Mosley told them Young shot him. Police said the two knew each other but did not reveal a motive for the shooting. 

Young was charged with first and second-degree murder and other related charges. He is currently in police custody in DC and will be extradited to Prince George's County soon.
