Tribute page started for mother, 4-year-old daughter found dead in Hagerstown hotel

The page allows people to donate money, share a memory, light a candle, and even plant a tree in memory of the two.

HAGERSTOWN, Md. — A tribute page has been developed for a mother and daughter found dead in a Hagerstown hotel room Wednesday afternoon.

Rollins Life Celebration Center in Frederick, Maryland added the page to their website to commemorate 40-year-old Elise Wars and her 4-year-old daughter Khori Ashton. The two were found dead in a room at APM Inn and Suites, located on Dual Highway, after a shooting, according to the Hagerstown Police Department.

Police arrested 22-year-old Javon Hines, who was identified by friends as the boyfriend of Wars, in the Baltimore area the next day. He faces multiple charges including two counts of first-degree murder.

While questions are still being answered, the community has gathered to support the family of the victims which includes the tribute page from the funeral home. The page allows people to donate money, share a memory, light a candle, and even plant a tree in memory of the two.

Donations are used to help the family with funeral plans. The goal for the tribute fund is $20,000. Within two days, 24% percent of the goal was raised with almost $5,000 raised by Monday afternoon by 77 donors. Donations continue to climb as the fund continues to accept monetary help for 26 more days.

The obituary and funeral plans have not been released yet by the funeral home.
