Plane skids off runway at Tipton Airport

The small plane is laying in a field near the runway at Tipton Airport.

FORT MEADE, Md. — An aircraft skidded off the runway at Tipton Airport in Fort Meade, Maryland on Monday morning.

The single-engine plane appears to be laying in a field beside the runway and has not moved since the incident.

The plane is registered to Green Airplane LLC out of Kensington, Maryland. It is a Mooney M20C fixed-wing aircraft manufactured in 1967.

It is unknown if the incident happened during take-off or landing.
