Prince George’s County Police are looking for the man that they believe shot and killed a 7-Eleven clerk before he allegedly committed armed robbery at a nearby hotel.
Police caught the suspect on surveillance video and have made the pictures public. Those images, however, do not show a clear view of the suspect’s face, leaving viewers to examine other details, looking for anything that could tip off police.
In one image, the suspect’s back is to the camera, revealing what looks like a black and grey backpack. In another, the man’s hood covers most of his face. But police believe that he is the one who tried to rob the 7-Eleven and allegedly shot the clerk.
Officers got the call around 5:00 a.m. When they arrived, they found 31-year-old Taiwo Oduwole, of Upper Marlboro, suffering from gunshot wounds. He died at the hospital.
As Oduwole fought for his life, the suspect fled the scene. But police said he did not get too far.
Based on the suspect’s description, authorities believe he committed an armed robbery at a nearby Comfort Inn. That victim was not injured, but police said the suspect did make it off with an unknown amount of cash.
The 7-Eleven reopened late this evening, two or three officers were keeping an eye on things just after 9:00 p.m.
WUSA9 went to Oduwole’s home and spoke to his cousin. He said he was too upset to talk.
