A mother and father were arrested in the murder of their 3-month-old son Wednesday evening.

Police have arrested 24-year-old Geneice Petty and 32-year-old Antoine Petty in the murder of their son, Antoine Flemons.

Authorities were notified by family members that Geneice Petty and Antoine Flemons went missing on October 17.

The following day, detectives located Geneice and Antoine Petty.

During interviews, Antoine told police he assaulted his son resulting in his death.

Both Antoine and Geneice admitted to burying the baby in an effort to conceal the crime.

The suspects lead detectives to a shallow grave near Parkdale High School in Riverdale Park where the baby was discovered dead.

One student told WUSA9 that his peers could see the investigation around the school Wednesday afternoon.

"My brother came home from practice and he said [an] entire part of the field you couldn't play on because of what happened, said student Manuel Perez.

Antoine Petty is charged with first and second degree murder, and various related charges. Geneice Petty is charged with accessory after the fact. They are in the custody of the Department of Corrections.

Antoine Petty is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing November 16 at the courthouse in Upper Marlboro.
