Family and friends came together to remember two slain Montgomery County students Friday night.

Shadi Najjar and Artem Ziberov were found murdered in a car in Montgomery Village in early June. Both students were set to graduate from Northwest High School in Germantown, Maryland.

Close to one hundred people attended a vigil in the students' honor at that high school. Both students parents shared stories about their sons to the crowd.

WUSA9 talked to Yassmin Salem. She graduated from Northwest in 2016 and said she was a friend of Najjar. Salem said she was sad about his death.

"Everybody's just completely surprised and heartbroken," she said.

Both Najjar and Ziberov's deaths remain unsolved. Both their parents and police ask that anyone with information in the case come forward.
