Two men have been stabbed in Maryland, and one is left in critical condition.

Howard County police tell local media that the incident occurred around 7 p.m. when two men approached a car with a baseball bat. Police say the driver came out, stabbed both men and then fled.

Police say they do not know more about what led to the confrontation or if the people involved know each other.

One victim, a 31-year-old man, was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in critical condition. The other victim, a 39-year-old man, was taken to a hospital with not life-threatening injuries.
