Montgomery County Police are investigating a double shooting in White Oak that has left a man and woman seriously injured.

According to police officials, dispatchers received multiple calls reporting the sound of gunshots in the area of Lockwood Drive around 1:20 a.m. Eventually a bystander called police after discovering the two victims. Captain Paul Starks, spokesman for the Montgomery County Police Department, says officers arrived on the scene in the 11500 block of Lockwood Drive to find a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims, who are described as young adults, were transported to the hospital, both in serious condition.

Right now an investigation is underway, and so far there is no preliminary information available on what led to the shooting. Police have not released any information on possible suspects or motive in the shooting.
