A local branch of the NAACP is urging that the Prince George's County Public Schools CEO be removed immediately, following recent issues within the school system.
A press conference pertaining to the issue was held Wednesday at 9 a.m. in Largo by the Prince George's County Branch of the NAACP. The NAACP is demanding that CEO, Kevin Maxwell for Prince County schools is removed immediately because he has "failed to protect the health, safety and civil rights of the students of this school system."
According to a release from the association every child deserves to go to school and be in a safe, secure and protected environment.
The concern comes after several incidents over the past few months, including the most recent, involving a 66-year-old teacher sexting and assaulting a teenager.
