Officials said the emergency communications center of Virginia state police is experiencing a problem with receiving phone calls made from a land-line.

Anyone needing to reach the Virginia State Police in Northern Virginia on a land-line phone can call 703-877-3520.

Officials said cell phone contact is not impacted by this issue.

Cellphone users can contact state police in Northern Virginia by dialing #77 or 703-877-3520.

Officials said they have notified all police and fire departments within the region, adding that work is underway by Verizon to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
