A woman was arrested for trying to kidnap a 7-year-old aboard a Metrobus in Northeast, D.C. last month, Metro Transit police said.
The attempted kidnapping happened around 8:30 a.m. on August 30 when Thalia Denis Brown, 39 went up to a 7-year-old boy who was traveling with his sister.
Brown asked the boy where his parents were and the victim told her that he was traveling with his sister, according to D.C. police. Brown then told the victim the following: "When I get off this bus, you're coming with me. We're going to the fed."
Brown also told the older sister that the boy was going with her. The children then told Brown to get away from them and some passengers on the bus stepped in to help. School administrators learned about the incident when the children got to school.
Brown was arrested Tuesday and is being charged with attempted kidnapping.
