Taking the Orange line to work Monday? Expect delays at five stations, according to Metro.

Single tracking is in place between New Carrollton and Cheverly stations due to construction issues over the weekend, officials stated. The service on the eastern end of the Orange line has been reduced.

The following stations are being impacted by the reduced service: New Carrollton, Landover, Cheverly, Deanwood, and Minnesota Avenue. Trains are running about every 16 minutes, rather than every 8 minutes, Metro said.

Additionally, every other Orange line train will start and end at Stadium-Armory instead of New Carrollton. There will be relatively normal service between Vienna and Stadium-Armory.

Metro suggests that customers who usually go to stations on the eastern Orange line should consider going to Largo Town Center or Morgan Boulevard.

The construction delay is due to a mechanical issue with mobile concrete plants used to pour new concrete pads under the rails. Metro crews need more time to pour concrete and let it cure before reinstalling the rails, officials stated.

Metro riders traveling from the impacted stations should allow 10 to 15 minutes of extra time.
