Three people were rescued from a capsized sailboat near D.C. Sunday evening, according to the United States Coast Guard.
A boat crew from Coast Guard Station Washington was patrolling the upper Potomac River when they got a report from a good Samaritan who said a sailboat capsized with two people in the water and one person holding onto the overturned hull.
The crew recovered two adults and one child at the scene, according to the United States Coast Guard.
A vessel from Washington Sailing Marina arrived to the scene and righted the sailing vessel back up.
The two adults were transferred back to their own vessel. They were safely escorted back to Washington Sailing Marina, and no injuries were reported.
