Two people are in the hospital after a car crash in Northeast, D.C., according to officials.

The crash happened around midnight at South Dakota Ave. and Bladensburg Rd. in Northeast, D.C.

D.C. firefighters extricated one person from the crash involving two cars.

Officials stated that two people were taken to the hospital. Their current conditions are unknown.

The 2700 block of South Dakota was shut down in both direction for about an hour.
