One man is dead and another is injured after a shooting Sunday night in Southeast, D.C., Metropolitan police said.

The fatal shooting happened around 8:40 p.m. in the 1900 block of Savannah Terrace, authorities stated.

When officers got to the scene they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man died from his wounds, despite life-saving efforts, according to police.

A second man was found nearby. He was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have not identified the man who was killed.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
