WASHINGTON -- One man is dead and a woman is seriously injured after being shot in Southeast, D.C. around 1:15 a.m. Sunday.
Officers responded to the 4300 block of 4th Street, Southeast after reports of the sounds of gunshots.
Police then found an adult male, 30 year-old Arkeem Jackson, unconscious and not breathing with multiple gunshot wounds, a police report said. Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded and transported the man to a hospital. He was pronounced dead after all life-saving efforts failed.
Police said they also found an adult female, conscious and breathing but also suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
